This painting was inspired by a black and white photo that my father took while he was on an assignment overseas. I believe the town is Cairo soon after the WAR (WWII that is). I love the light coming down the street and glancing off the line of cars.

I've always loved roses and finally decided to bite the bullet and grow some of my own. After growing some absolutely beautiful ones, I just had to paint one and what better way then larger than life as befits their grandeur. This painting needs space around it to be viewed from a distance.
